Kye's First Hair Cut...
i know many of you were wondering when we were finally going to give kye his first hair cut. of course this is that same baby boy that was bald for the first 6 months of his life. it broke my heart to see those cute little curls cut off and to see my baby boy transformed into a little boy. he did very well while grandma cut his hair... and some cookies for distraction didn't hurt the cause either. now he looks so mature and distinguished, but fortunately he'll never lose that smile and laugh that we love so much.

"hey... check out my new hair cut!
do you think the girls will dig it?"

Story books, finger kisses and lots 'o lovin...

"someone has to show daddy how to play axis and allies..."

finger kisses with grandma...

snug as a bug in a transformer blanket...

The curious case of the teeth marked fudge...
follow this story closely as the events unfold in front of the camera, and tell me who you think is the bandit...

mommy opens her bag of german chocolates and fudge
while someone seems extremely interested in what mommy has in her hand....

while mommy is conveniently distracted
the bandit makes off with one block of fudge...

realizing there is a second block of fudge on the couch
and that mommy is still very much distracted by her gifts,
the sneaky bandit comes back for the second block of fudge
while still holding the first block...

suddenly mommy realizes she's been had!
"how did these teeth marks get into my fudge?!"

kye suspiciously says, "i don't know mommy,
but those sure taste yummy... can i have my fudge back?"

kye was more than just a bit upset when i did not
return the fudge to his sneaky little hands.
what can i say... he's his momma's son...

It's a Christmas Miracle...
after being delayed in Germany a day... running into the snow storm on the east coast and being stuck in Chicago for two days... then being detoured to Wichita Falls on Christmas day due to our beautiful snow storm in Oklahoma City... then a 2 1/2 hour drive from Wichita Falls to Oklahoma City... Kale finally made it home for Christmas. we were so happy to finally have him back home after being deployed for 6 weeks and delayed in airports for 4 days.

we enjoyed our Christmas dinner on the night of Christmas, then opened our gifts the next day. the boys didn't know the difference, but they had fun... especially kye. shey just enjoyed chewing on the wrapping paper while jumping in his jumper, and kye had fun not only opening his gifts, but shey's gifts as well.

it's a houser tradition to get family pictures in front of the tree, but as usual each picture seems to digress and our family gets smaller. next christmas we'll just send a picture of a family of two... kale and liz... as neither of our boys will want to sit still for a family picture.

"oh boy... what's kye up to now?
big brothers always get to have all the fun..."

and we're off...

"why does kye get to ditch the family picture,
but i'm still stuck with mommy and daddy?"

"this lizard doesn't taste half bad..."

"HELP.... i'm being attacked by my pet lizard!"

"this transformer blanket works well as a sarong...
and if i just happen to fall down while trying to run in it
i can just close my eyes and i'm ready for bed..."

"i love christmas wrapping paper..."

this is the gift from grandma and grandpa that caused kye to no long be interested in any other presents. this is also the gift that made mommy and daddy hate "the muffin man" song. he got to play it as much as he wanted the first day, but funny thing was the batteries disappeared from it the next morning... must have been the "annoyance police"...

Wagon Ride...
we bundled the boys up and took them for a wagon ride. this was shey's first time in the wagon, and he was all smiles as he enjoyed the ride. kye decided he wanted to help pull the wagon. he did so well and had such a fun time pulling his little brother. it was so adorable.

"alright... this is just too slow for me...
move aside daddy... there's a new driver in town!"

"hold on, shey, we're going for a real ride..."

"we're cruzin now..."

Chinook Aviator Kye...
kale got a remote control chinook from kye for christmas. i don't know who loved it more, but they both had a fun time flying it in the snow... which by the way makes for very soft landings.

making little tracks in the snow...

daddy's little helper...

yummy... snow!

"i'm on top of the world..."

"ok... now i'm stuck on top of the world..."

"oooh... this seemed like a good idea...
until i remembered jeans aren't water proof..."

Fun in the snow with grandpa...
we got quite a bit of snow on christmas day. it's said that we got up to 14", but it was hard to measure as the wind blew the snow up against our fence creating very high snow drifts. unfortunately we were not prepared with a sled for such an occasion, but grandpa tried to substitute with a table top... it wasn't quite as fast as he hoped it would be.

"faster grandpa... faster..."

"look, my first snow ball..."

"grandpa, let me show you how to build a snowman..."
